Job summary

Care New England is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager at Butler Hospital to provide leadership and clinical oversight for a designated inpatient unit. The role supports the Nurse Director in daily operations, supervises nursing staff, and ensures high-quality psychiatric patient care in line with hospital policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• RN license in Rhode Island and CPR certification.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years nursing experience; 4 years psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred, with ability to supervise staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work under stress.
• Knowledge of JCAHO requirements and hospital policies.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and advocate for patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and clinical oversight for a designated inpatient unit.
• Assist Nurse Director in managing daily operations and staffing.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, mental health workers, and volunteers.
• Ensure accurate documentation of nursing care in medical records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research activities.
