Job summary

Care New England’s Butler Hospital seeks a part-time registered nurse to provide direct psychiatric patient care in alignment with ANA standards and RI Nurse Practice Act. The role supports treatment planning, discharge planning, and safe crisis management on duty.

The nurse will administer medications, collaborate with the care team, and assume Charge Nurse responsibilities during shifts. RI license required; BSN preferred; part-time 32/64 schedule with every other weekend, including float days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• B.S.N preferred.
• Current RI nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients.
• Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies in such a manner that assures that the individual in crisis is properly cared for and that all other patients are safe.
• Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift.
