Job Title – RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location – Indianapolis, IN

Pay – $2496 – $2912/wk

Schedule Details – Night, 4X12

Job Description –
IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour.
First Time Travelers Accepted. Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE, or 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract, or 3) if a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract. Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed. Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be required with training and resources provided.
Certification Requirements: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH.
Skillset Requirements: Minimum 2 Years experience, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Titrate Cardiac drips, Starting IVs, Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, Charge Experience.
Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals.
Staffing Ratios: 1:5.
Unit Information: Medical PCU – almost ICU level acuity – multiple cardiac drips, stable vents, multi-organ failure, liver failure, pulmonary issues.
Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RNs to work at their facilities, with some exceptions. Periop/OR RNs, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt.
Shift Info: Night 4×12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30).
