Job summary

Lutheran Health Network in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care on the nights shift (.9 FTE, 7p-7a) in a 14-bed step-down/IMCU unit caring for post-stroke and post-trauma patients.

The RN will perform assessments, administer medications, collaborate with physicians and the care team, and educate patients and families while adhering to safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care.
• Current RN license in Indiana or compact
• BCLS and ACLS/PALS per unit requirements as applicable

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care following nursing process and protocols.
• Assess patients thoroughly and document findings; report changes promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects.
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to implement care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/code activities as needed.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
