Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The RN will collaborate with providers for pre-operative and post-operative care and advocate for patients to enhance their experience.

The role emphasizes timely documentation, medication administration, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical care. No travel required and a comprehensive benefit package is offered.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of start date.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
• Assess patient condition at admission and during each shift, reporting changes.
• Document care given in the medical record promptly and accurately.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain knowledge of meds, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
