Job summary

Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Vernon, Connecticut is seeking an experienced RN Supervisor to lead our nursing team on the day shift. The role focuses on overseeing LTC and STC operations, ensuring quality resident care and smooth clinical operations.

The candidate will supervise staff, interpret policies, coordinate care, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate documentation. Excellent leadership, communication and CPR certification required; IV-line certification

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in Connecticut.
• Minimum 3 years in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation with at least 1 year in supervision.
• IV-line management certification preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Fluency in English; strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret nursing policies and ensure proper implementation.
• Supervise and coordinate nursing care; provide mentoring and corrective action as needed.
• Make rounds on units and communicate with families as necessary.
• Respond to emergencies and provide medical oversight.
• Verify physician orders and ensure changes are reported.
• Secure pre-admission reports and maintain resident safety.
• Ensure medical records are complete and accurate.
• Conduct chart audits and oversee physician schedules.
• Assume DNS/ADNS and charge nurse duties when needed.
• Attend meetings as required by Supervisor/Administrator and Director.
