Job summary

UNC Health Nash, part of the UNC Health system, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the NGH Operating Room. This full-time, onsite role offers a sign-on bonus up to $30,000 for qualifying candidates and requires NC RN licensure, BLS at hire, and 1 year of nursing experience with acute/chronically ill patients.

Education and collaboration are essential as you participate in education programs and work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• BLS required at hire.
• ACLS and PALS preferred.
• One year of nursing experience caring for acute and chronically ill patients.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify and meet learning needs of self; attends education programs and uses patient education materials relevant to patient population.
• Evaluation of care: identify outcomes and revise plan of care with the team.
• Implementation: provide care for patients with complex problems following policies and procedures.
• Leadership: develop goals, promote collaboration, and support unit objectives.
• Patient Assessment: synthesize data to determine care priorities and discharge planning needs.
• Planning: coordinate with multidisciplinary team and consider cultural/ethnic issues.
• Research: review journals and share applicable ideas with staff.
