Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a part-time registered nurse to provide individualized nursing care to patients of all ages at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. The role involves coordinating care at admission, transfer, and discharge, while delivering high-quality nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.

Shifts are day shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Iowa RN licensure, BLS, and mandatory reporter training are required, along with English

Qualifications

• Current or compact RN license issued by Iowa.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire (American Heart Association).
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages. Uses a team approach to delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge. Independently delivers nursing care using the Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Medical Center policies, nursing standards, ethical principles, and professional judgment. Works rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Job duties may vary by shift or may be unit-specific.

• Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
• Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire. The acceptable credentialing body is the American Heart Association.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to populations served within three (3) months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English language.
