Job summary

State of Nebraska is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the Western Nebraska Veterans' Home in Scottsbluff. PRN positions require a minimum of 32 hours per month (at least 16 on weekends) under limited supervision to provide professional nursing care to residents.

The role administers medications, coordinates care with physicians and other staff, trains and guides LPNs and aides, maintains accurate records, and participates in care planning and rounds.

Qualifications

• Active RN license to practice in Nebraska or via compact license.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Background check and drug screen required; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to residents in the Western Nebraska Veterans' Home.
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor and report patient status.
• Coordinate care with physicians, psychiatrists, and other staff as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Supervise LPNs and direct care staff; train and orient new personnel.
• Maintain current patient records and documentation; transcribe orders as needed.
• Participate in care planning, rounds, and quality improvement activities.
