Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS seeks a Registered Nurse for the BHU (Bedside Health Unit) - PRN position. You will deliver professional nursing care to patients under physician direction, mentor staff, and ensure care plans meet patient needs in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Required ADN and RN licensure in Kansas or compact state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire or by end of orientation.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC/NIHSS/AWHONN may be required per department policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients under the direction of a physician.
• Mentors, develops and trains new staff and students.
• Perform acts within the scope of practice as defined by the licensing board.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care per unit policies and procedures.
• Evaluate patient needs and maintain a care plan within scope.
• Promote patient independence by involving patient and family.
• Administer and evaluate medications; manage medication orders and delivery.
• Educate patient/family on care, symptoms, and self-care skills.
• Complete timely documentation per policy.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition.
• Align actions with organization mission, vision, and values.
• Follow PHI privacy and security regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, team, and external parties.
