Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health. This full-time position (FT Days) supports patient care under physician supervision, mentors staff, and contributes to care plans while maintaining documentation and PHI compliance.

The role requires ADN, Kansas RN licensure, and current BLS/CPR. ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and other certifications may be required per department policy.

Qualifications

• Must hold ADN and RN licensure in Kansas or a compact state.
• BLS/CPR current or within 30 days of hire; ACLS/PALS/others may be required per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients under physician supervision.
• Mentor, develop and train new staff and students.
• Perform nursing acts within scope of practice as defined by licensing board.
• Maintain patient care plans aligned with policies and procedures.
• Evaluate patient needs and update care plans accordingly.
• Promote patient independence and involve family in care discussions.
• Administer medications accurately and timely.
• Educate patient and family on health conditions, treatment, and self-care.
• Document timely and accurately per policy.
• Monitor patient status and communicate changes to the team.
• Maintain PHI privacy and security; uphold mission and values.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
