Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland is seeking an RN PRN to support perioperative care in a collaborative operating room team. The role includes evaluating patients before surgery, educating families, preparing patients with IV therapy and medications, and ensuring surgical site verification.

You will join a dynamic interdisciplinary team and contribute to patient safety, evidence-based practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. On-call is required during select non-business hours.

Qualifications

• RN license or compact license required.
• ACLS and BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education on procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patient including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy.
• Respond to patient emergencies and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient care and workflow improvements.
