Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking an RN to provide nursing care to students at the New Orleans Job Corps Center. You will treat and prevent minor injuries, monitor ill students, and supervise LPNs/LVNs to ensure compliance with state regulations.

This PRN position offers a flexible schedule with no mandatory nights, weekends, or holidays, contributing to student health and well-being at the center.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
• Experience working with youth in a paid or unpaid capacity is preferred.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to students as authorized by the medical provider and within state nurse practice act.
• Supervise LPNs/LVNs to assure compliance with state regulations and nurse practice act.
• Provide basic health care to students as required by DOL including entry requirements and immunizations.
• Monitor students with illness and those unable to attend class.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for treating and preventing minor injuries and illnesses assuring all medical clinical care is provided to students. They will provide information and guidance for the promotion of good health and well-being of our students.

Essential functions:

• Provide nursing care to students as authorized by the medical provider and within scope for state-specific nurse practice act
• Provide supervision to the staff LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurse)/ LVNs to assure compliance with all state regulations and scope of practice and nurse practice act for practical and/ or vocational nurses
• Provide basic health care to students as required by DOL including all entry requirements and immunizations
• Monitor students with illness and unable to attend class.

Education and Experience Requirements:
