Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring a registered nurse to deliver clinical care for students at the San Diego Job Corps Center. You will provide nursing services and health guidance to promote student wellness, under medical direction.

The role includes supervising LPNs/LVNs, ensuring compliance with nurse practice acts and state regulations, and implementing health screening, immunizations, and care plans for students in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
• Experience working with youth in a paid or unpaid capacity preferred.
• A valid driver license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to students as authorized by the medical provider and within state scope.
• Supervise LPNs/LVNs to ensure compliance with state regulations and scope of practice.
• Provide basic health care to students including immunizations and entry requirements.
• Monitor students with illness and those unable to attend class.

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for treating and preventing minor injuries and illnesses assuring all medical clinical care is provided to students. They will provide information and guidance for the promotion of good health and well-being of our students.

Essential functions:

• Provide nursing care to students as authorized by the medical provider and within scope for state-specific nurse practice act
• Provide supervision to the staff LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurse)/ LVNs to assure compliance with all state regulations and scope of practice and nurse practice act for practical and/ or vocational nurses
• Provide basic health care to students as required by DOL including all entry requirements and immunizations
• Monitor students with illness and unable to attend class.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
• Experience working with youth in a paid or unpaid capacity is preferred.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
