Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the New Orleans Job Corps Center in New Orleans, LA, seeking a qualified RN to deliver and supervise clinical care for students. The role includes supervising LPNs/LVNs and providing basic health services to promote student wellness.

The RN must hold an unrestricted state license, have relevant experience with youth, and possess a valid driver's license. This is a PRN, on-call position with no nights, weekends, or holidays required.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
• Experience working with youth in a paid or unpaid capacity is preferred.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to students as authorized by the medical provider and within state scope of practice.
• Supervise LPNs/LVNs to ensure compliance with state regulations and nursing scope of practice.
• Provide basic health care to students and manage entry requirements and immunizations.
• Monitor students with illness and those unable to attend class.

Wage: $37.50 per hour

Schedule: PRN- Varies, when needed.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for treating and preventing minor injuries and illnesses assuring all medical clinical care is provided to students. They will provide information and guidance for the promotion of good health and well-being of our students.

Essential Functions

• Provide nursing care to students as authorized by the medical provider and within scope for state-specific nurse practice act
• Provide supervision to the staff LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurse)/ LVNs to assure compliance with all state regulations and scope of practice and nurse practice act for practical and/ or vocational nurses
• Provide basic health care to students as required by DOL including all entry requirements and immunizations
• Monitor students with illness and unable to attend class.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
• Experience working with youth in a paid or unpaid capacity is preferred.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
