Job summary

SCA Health in Minnesota is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp PACU role at our facility in Eagan. You will apply perioperative knowledge to support patients before and after anesthesia and ensure a safe recovery path.

You will assess patient status, implement the perianesthesia plan, administer medications safely, educate families, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and nursing teammates to uphold our standards of quality and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state nursing license in good standing.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment; ACLS within 90 days; PALS if pediatric care is included.
• Experience in medical/surgical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological systems.
• Implement individualized perianesthesia plan of care and manage recovery from anesthesia.
• Administer medications safely using the eight rights and monitor patient comfort and pain control.
• Provide patient and family education and ensure clear hand-off reports to the care team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and colleagues to maintain safety and quality care.
• Maintain required competencies and contribute to quality improvement efforts.
