Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Richmond is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU to provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients across the perioperative spectrum. The role includes monitoring patients emerging from general anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy, and assisting physicians with sterile technique as required.
The position calls for an active Texas RN license, BLS/ACLS, and a focus on efficient patient flow with strong communication and decision-making abilities.
We have 4 OR rooms and perform outpatient surgical procedures in GI, Colorectal, Orthopedic, Pain, Spine, Podiatry. Position requires weekdays only (1 weekend day a month) -- no holidays or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
