Job summary

Rocky Mountain Endoscopy is seeking a PRN Preop/PACU RN to join our team. The nurse will implement physician orders, support continuity of care, and monitor patients emerging from anesthesia, ensuring safety and comfort.

Under supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, responsibilities include perioperative assessment, planning, and contributing to discharge preparation, with emphasis on sterile technique and patient privacy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current CO Registered Nurse License.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• ASC experience a plus.
• Experience in PACU / ICU required.
• Good communication and human relations skills.
• Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative.
• Thorough knowledge of perioperative process including knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia implications.

Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders and ensure continuity and quality of nursing care.
• Provide patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient and family preparation for discharge.

Preop/PACU Registered Nurse at Rocky Mountain Endoscopy:

Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
