Job summary

South Denver Surgery Center is seeking a Full Time Preop/PACU RN to join our team. 4 days per week, 10 hour shifts with no weekends, nights, calls, or holidays.

Under supervision, the PACU nurse will implement physician orders, ensure continuity of nursing care, and monitor patients emerging from anesthesia, focusing on safety and privacy. Requires PACU/ICU experience and CO RN licensure, with BLS/ACLS/PALS current.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current CO Registered Nurse License.
• Ortho experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• ASC experience a plus.
• Experience in PACU/ICU required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse implements physician orders and ensures continuity and quality of care.
• Maintains patient safety, comfort, and privacy during recovery from anesthesia or sedation.
• Assists physicians in procedure rooms with appropriate tasks and sterile technique as needed.
• Performs assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for discharge preparation.

Preop/PACU Registered Nurse at South Denver Surgery Center:

Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• CurrentCO Registered Nurse License
• Ortho experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
• ASC experience a plus
• Experience in PACU/ ICU required
• Good communication and human relations skills
• Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative.
• Thorough knowledge of all phases of perioperative process including knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia implications.
