Job summary

Valley Surgery Center is seeking a Prep/PACU Registered Nurse to join our team. The role involves implementing physician orders, ensuring patient safety and comfort from PACU to discharge, and coordinating with physicians during procedures and sedation.

The ideal candidate has a nursing degree, an active RN license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. PACU/ICU experience is preferred, with strong communication and organizational skills to support perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certificates.
• ASC experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Knowledge of perioperative processes and anesthesia implications.

Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders and provide continuity of nursing care.
• Continuously evaluate patient condition, ensure safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms and with conscious sedation as appropriate.
• Provide comprehensive care from PACU through discharge planning.
• Collaborate with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Prep/PACU Registered Nurse

Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• CurrentCO Registered Nurse License
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
• ASC experience a plus
• Experience in PACU/ ICU required
• Good communication and human relations skills
• Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative.
• Thorough knowledge of all phases of perioperative process including knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia implications.

Hourly Range: $54- $80(based on experience)
