Job summary

Northwest Surgery Center, located on the Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital campus, is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU to support outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry and Urology.

The position requires weekdays only—no holidays, weekends, or on-call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule can change with the surgical day. The RN provides comprehensive perioperative care and prepares patients for discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients with ongoing assessment and safety.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique.
• Care for patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation and prepare for discharge.

Northwest Surgery Center is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU. Conveniently located on the Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital campus, we have 7 OR rooms and 1 procedure room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Urology.

Position requires weekdays only – no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule is subject to change based on the surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Job Description

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. The nurse may assist physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation and utilization of sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. The nurse will provide comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications
