Job summary

Northwest Surgery Center, part of United Surgical Partners International, is seeking a RN PreOp/PACU to provide safe, high-quality care for patients staged for surgery and emerging from anesthesia. The role focuses on continuity of care in the PACU and PreOp areas, with expectations for weekday scheduling, potential early mornings or late evenings based on procedures and flow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program and current RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS certification; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years in PACU or critical care preferred.
• Strong nursing judgment and ability to prioritize patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients in PreOp/PACU and recovery from anesthesia.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with sedation and sterile technique as needed.
• Assess plan, implement, and evaluate patient care from admission to discharge.

Northwest Surgery Center is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU

Welcome to Northwest Surgery Center

Conveniently located on the Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital campus. We have 7 OR rooms and 1 Procedure room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at Northwest Surgery Center

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient\'s condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing


• Active RN license in the state


• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center


• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred


• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment


• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit


• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
