Texas Orthopedic Center of Excellence is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU to provide comprehensive nursing care for patients emerging from anesthesia, with focus on safety, comfort, and privacy. The role involves working with the surgical team and adapting to the day’s schedule.

Qualified candidates will be a graduate of an accredited RN program, hold an active RN license in Texas, and meet BLS/ACLS requirements with preferred PACU or Critical Care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment; prioritize workload.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of condition, safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assess, plan, implement and evaluate care pre-discharge.

RN PreOp/PACU

Texas Orthopedic Center of Excellence is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU. Welcome to Texas Orthopedic Center of Excellence.

We have 5 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in GI, Orthopedic, Pain. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications
