Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Pre-Transplant Coordinator, a registered nurse, to facilitate and coordinate all aspects of the transplant referral, evaluation, waiting period, and peri-operative phases. You will collaborate with the transplant team to ensure safe, compassionate care and timely progression through the process.

The role requires strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient advocacy, with coaching from experienced coordinators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Four years nursing experience or three years Oncology/BMT-specific experience.
• RN Texas license within 60 days (if establishing residency) and BLS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transplant referral, evaluation, waiting, and peri-operative stages with the interprofessional team.
• Educate patients and families about transplant processes, options, and protections.
• Communicate candidacy status and evaluation outcomes to all stakeholders.
• Monitor patient needs, ensure safety, and support continuous quality improvement.
