Job summary

Patches West Surgery Center within Regent Surgical Health is seeking a Part-Time RN Pre Admission Testing (PAT) to advocate for patients and coordinate with the surgical team. The PAT RN conducts preadmission screening, gathers pertinent information, and helps develop a care plan for each patient to ensure a smooth perioperative process.

This on-site role requires at least two years of nursing experience, a valid RN license in the state, and BLS/ACLS/PALS as dictated by center policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in appropriate state.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification as required by ASC policy.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs to provide quality care during patient interview.
• Develop and communicate a realistic plan of care with patient, family, and team.
• Implement nursing plans and coordinate with anesthesia for pre-screening.
• Evaluate care and patient responses to ensure quality outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation for team communication.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and respect for patients and staff.
• Follow exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
• Communicate arrival times and NPO instructions to patients.
• Record physician orders accurately and timely.
• Cross-train to pre-op and PACU as needed.
• Handle telephone inquiries and document calls.
