Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Evanston Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Postpartum night shift. This full-time role covers 36 hours weekly with 1900–0730 hours and weekend rotations. The nurse will float to ISCU, Antepartum, and LDRP as needed, with travel to Highland Park Hospital for certain cases.

The position requires IL nursing licensure, BSN preferred, and BLS/CPR certification. Experience in postpartum or acute care nursing is highly desired.

• Current professional nursing licensure in IL required.
• NLN-accredited nursing school graduate.
• BLS/CPR certification for Healthcare Provider required.

Responsibilities

• Develops a care plan and evaluates patient progress.
• Performs patient assessments and collects health data.
• Communicates plan of care with patient, family, and team.
• Tailors patient education to learning needs and cultural background.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team for optimal outcomes.
• Provide comfort and psychological support to patients.
• Assist with procedures and IV/OC therapy as needed.
• Adheres to HIPAA and maintains patient privacy.

$37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Registered Nurse -Postpartum- Night Shift

• Position: Registered Nurse


• Location: Evanston Hospital, Evanston IL


• Full Time: 36 hours per week


• Hours: 1900-0730, with weekend rotation


• Call: n/a


• Required Travel: Highland Park Hospital


• Float: Can float to ISCU, Antepartum at Evaston or the LDRP at Highland Park Hospital

A Brief Overview:

The Registered Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The Registered Nurse will collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.

What you will do:

• Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluates patient's progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.


• Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. .


• Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient's wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.


• Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assesses patient's cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly. Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.


• Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.


• Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support


• Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, 02 therapy, and IV management.


• Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keeps abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities. Supports staff in using research and providing evidence-based care


• If skilled, conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients. Monitors effectiveness of wound/ostomy treatment plans and other aspects of wound/ostomy/skin care


• Complies with HIPAA regulations.

• Assist in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.

What you will Need:

• License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required


• Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred


• Certification: BLS/CPR Certification for the Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association


• Experience: 2 years Postpartum or acute care nursing experience strongly preferred


• Unique or Preferred Skills: Postpartum Experience preferred
