Job summary

UNC Health Care in Smithfield, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide patient care within the scope of practice and to assist with patient flow and prioritization of work assignments. The position includes a $10,000 commitment incentive, is full-time, onsite, and 40 hours per week.

Prior experience in physician offices, urgent care, or emergency departments is preferred. Requires NC RN licensure with a Diploma/ADN/BSN and BCLS; strong patient communication, documentation, and teamwork

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice registered nurse in North Carolina with BCLS.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to assess patients and support exams, procedures, and education.

Responsibilities

• Maintains compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates competence in patient care within RN scope, including assessment, exams, procedures, medications, and education.
• Processes orders, notifies physicians of results, and prioritizes patient questions.
• Documents care provided in the medical record.
• Facilitates patient flow and prioritization of work assignments.
• Maintains supplies and documents safety checks for equipment.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and evidence-based nursing practices.
• Complies with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection prevention policies; participates in unit performance improvement.
• Exhibits good customer service and teamwork with patients, families, and staff.
