Experienced RNs ONLY; NO NEW GRADS. The role involves collaboration with a healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care and participate in call rotations and weekend coverage as volumes fluctuate during hospital growth.

Qualifications

• Pre-operative and PACU care for surgical patients
• Pre-operative and PACU care for Radiology patients
• Support of Interoperative Radiology procedures
• Cross-coverage between perioperative and radiology services
• Participation in call rotation
• Weekend coverage requirements
• Willingness to cross-train and work across multiple patient care settings
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing assessment of patient conditions consistent with age and condition, including physical, psychological, social, developmental, and educational factors, to determine initial level of compliance with treatment plan per policy and unit guidelines.
• Continually evaluates patient responses to care, teaching, and discharge plans. Documents patient progress in appropriate charts and shares observations with healthcare team and families.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing activities within established parameters to ensure compliance with medication, storage and documentation standards.
• Provides orientation to the unit, hospital systems, and processes to patients and family members to ensure familiarity with unit policies.
• Supervises patient care activities of assigned team members and delegates activities appropriate to knowledge, skill, and competency.
• Works collaboratively with patient care team and family to establish and implement plan of care and coordinate activities.
• Fosters a positive learning environment by mentoring students and new employees through instruction and knowledge sharing.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
