Job summary

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Perioperative Care Unit (PCU). The role prepares patients for surgical procedures across Cardio/Thoracic, Gynecology/Oncology, Orthopedics, Urology, and more. A BSN is preferred and WA or compact-state RN licensure is required.

We offer per diem scheduling with day/evening shifts and 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shift options. Summer and winter call shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in WA or compact state.
• 5+ years of acute care nursing experience.
• CPR certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Recent Pre-op/Phase II nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• RNs may need rhythm interpretation competency in first week.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgery.
• Prepare patients for a variety of procedures across multiple specialties.
• Maintain patient safety, monitor vitals, and ensure readiness for anesthesia and recovery.

We are currently seeking aRegistered Nurse for our Perioperative Care Unit (PCU). This unit is responsible to prepare patients for surgical procedures. Patient populations include Cardio/Thoracic, Gynecology/Oncology, Bariatric, Orthopedics, Urology, Podiatry, Vascular, and General Surgery.

Per diem

Day shift 0** 530-1400 / Evening shift 1300-2130 /Sat/Sun 0530-1400**

3 8-hour shifts or combination of 4, 8, 10, & 12 hour shifts per 4 week schedule

1 summer holiday call shift and 1 winter holiday call shift required

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing required, BSN preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington. (May be a multi-State license from a Compact state or a Washington license.)
• 5+ years recent acute care nursing experience required.
• Healthcare provider CPR Certification required.
• ACLS certificationrequired.
• Recent Pre-op/Phase II nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
• Note - RNs hired into units that require a competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation will be required to take a rhythm assessment in their first week. This will include standard cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias and paced rhythms.
