Job summary

Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is seeking an Assistant Perioperative Manager (RN) to oversee daily OR operations and staffing. The role reports to the Manager of OR and Director of Surgery, with four 10-hour shifts (Mon–Fri) and mid-shift start around 9am.

Qualifications

• Two years of RN experience in a surgical area.
• One year in a surgical leadership role (manager/assistant manager/supervisor).
• Must obtain Bachelor of Science within 36 months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates staffing needs and daily coverage to meet patient care requirements.
• Collaborates with the surgical control desk liaison, anesthesia, pre-op, and PACU for optimal case flow and productivity targets.
• Monitors schedule for equipment or supply needs and special requests.
• Collaborates with physicians on new procedures and equipment needs.
• Ensures vendor accessibility and participation in scheduled cases per OR policies.
• Monitors surgeon block time and OR suite utilization as directed.
• Maintains current list of surgeons and updates credentials and preference cards.
• Identifies future service line needs with Nursing Operations Manager and Directors.
• Participates in MEOC with surgeons to pilot equipment and standardize supplies.
• Provides in-services to SPD on sterilization of instruments and accessories.
