Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking aRegistered Nurse to provide and coordinate independent care within a clinical specialty as part of a multidisciplinary team. Position requires current Maryland RN licensure and BLS certification, with at least 1 year of nursing experience.

Qualified candidates should have a nursing diploma or associate degree and be prepared for ongoing education to maintain licensure, including unit-based certifications as required by the department.

Qualifications

• Must have RN licensure in Maryland or be eligible to practice under MD compact.
• Diploma in nursing or an Associate Degree in nursing.
• Current BLS certification required.
• One year nursing experience.
• Unit-based licensure as required for the role.
• Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
• Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting.

• Provide and coordinate independent care for patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective multidisciplinary team member.
• Participate in the general descriptions of duties for the unit as part of patient care services.

Job Requirements

36 hours/4-weeks including two (2) 12-hour weekend shifts. One (1) summer holiday and one (1) winter holiday.

This role has greater than 12 months experience. Provides and coordinates independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team.

Work Experience

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
• Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes.
• One year nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
• Diploma in nursing or Associates Degree in nursing required.
• Current BLS certification required. Unit based licensure as required for the role as defined at the unit/department level. (examples include but are not limited to Neonatal Resuscitation Program [NPR], Certification in Pre-Transport/Post-Resuscitation Stabilization Care of Sick Infants for Neonatal Healthcare Providers [STABLE], Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS), Trauma 101, etc.)
• Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
• Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting.
