Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System seeks a licensed Registered Nurse in Maryland to provide and coordinate independent care within a clinical specialty as a fully effective, participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team. The position requires 72 hours in a four‑week cycle, including three 12‑hour weekend shifts, plus one summer and one winter holiday per calendar year.

• Maintenance of ten (10) contact hours of continuing education every two (2) years.

Work Experience

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland, or eligible to practice nursing in Maryland due to Compact state agreements outlined through the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Unit-based licensure as required for the role defined at the unit/department level. Examples include but are not limited to Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NPR), Certification in Pre‑Transport/Post‑Resuscitation Stabilization Care of Sick Infants for Neonatal Healthcare Providers (STABLE), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Trauma 101, etc.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
• An associate degree in nursing.
• Maintenance of ten (10) contact hours of continuing education every two (2) years.

Education & Experience - Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in a specific specialty such as critical care, med/surg, or pediatrics.
