Job summary

The Dimock Center in Boston, MA seeks a Per Diem Nurse in Addiction Medicine to join a dedicated clinical team. You will perform assessments, monitor withdrawal, administer medications, and support patients through detoxification and early recovery.

This per diem position involves a mix of days and nights, with a minimum of four shifts per month including at least one weekend. Prior experience in detox or addiction services is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with Associate's or Bachelor's in Nursing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Certification in Addiction Nursing (CARN) or related specialty preferred.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
• Experience in detoxification, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, emergency services, or medical-surgical nursing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments upon admission and throughout treatment.
• Monitor withdrawal symptoms, changes in condition, and potential medical complications.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider.
• Educate patients and families regarding the detoxification process and medications.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, counselors, social workers, and other team members to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation and ensure confidentiality (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2).
