Job summary

The Dimock Center is seeking an experienced Detox/Addictions Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care within a medically monitored withdrawal management program in Massachusetts. The role works within an interdisciplinary team to assess patients, administer medications, monitor withdrawal, and support recovery while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Per diem schedule requires a minimum of 4 shifts per month, including at least one weekend, with a mix of days and nights.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current and unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts.
Current CPR certification required.
Certification in Addiction Nursing (CARN) or related specialty preferred.
Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
Experience in detoxification, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, emergency services, or medical-surgical nursing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments upon admission and throughout treatment.
Monitor withdrawal symptoms and changes in condition.
Assess vital signs and respond to emergent medical situations.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
Document assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes.
Educate patients and families about the detoxification process and expectations.
Collaborate with the treatment team to develop individualized plans.
