Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Unit. You will provide patient-centered care, communicate with families, and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement plans.

The role requires strong assessment and critical thinking, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to educate patients and families. The position offers rotating shifts and a comprehensive benefits package, with a sign-on bonus for external applicants.

Formación

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa or a compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• PALS certification within 12 months of hire; NICU certification within 12 months of hire.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and adherence to Mercy protocols.

Responsabilidades

• Communicate clinical information at handoffs to patients, families, and coworkers to support optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrate competent assessment, planning, intervention, coordination and evaluation based on the patient’s plan of care.
• Maintain accurate, real-time documentation of nursing care per hospital policy.
• Delegate to licensed and unlicensed staff as assigned and supervise care across shifts.
• Provide age-appropriate communication and education to patients and families.
