Job summary

HCA Healthcare's St. David’s Medical Center in Austin seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the PCU Medsurg Float Pool. You will assess patients, create and adjust care plans, and work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective treatment.

Responsibilities include medication administration, post-op care, and discharge planning. You will collaborate with various clinicians to optimize patient outcomes and participate in ongoing patient education.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as an RN.
• BLS, NIHSS, ACLS certifications required/preferred as per policy.
• BSN preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, develop a plan of care, and evaluate care in the Progressive Care Unit and Medical Surgical Float Pool.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, accurate delivery of care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to hospital policy; delegate to non-licensed staff when appropriate.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care and patient/family education.
• Facilitate discharge planning with the care team.
