Job summary

Harris Health in Houston seeks a Nurse in the Patient Flow Command Center to coordinate interfacility transfers across the multi-hospital system, ensuring safe and timely patient placement. You will manage transfer requests, communicate with physicians, and support bed management and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a BSN, Texas RN license, BLS, and experience in transfer centers or bed management. Proficiency with Epic and MS Word is expected, with flexible scheduling including weekends

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be completed within two years of hire.
• Texas RN license or multi-state license required.
• 1 year transfer center/bed management experience preferred.
• 5 years as RN preferred.
• 2 years of management/leadership experience preferred.
• Strong verbal communication with heavy public contact.
• Proficiency in MS Word and relevant documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete interfacility patient transfers across Harris Health system.
• Ensure safe, timely patient placement and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate physician-to-physician communication and bed management coordination.
• Maintain department records and document in Epic.
• Collaborate with PFCC Coordinators and clinical teams for effective patient flow and capacity management.
