FMOLHS Career Portal is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Patient Throughput Specialist (PTS) role. This office-based position uses nursing expertise to support hospital operations, patient safety, and care continuity behind the scenes, coordinating patient movement during inpatient stays.

You will work with EPIC and other tools to triage remotely, manage consults, and collaborate with Transfer Center, ED, and consulting services, staying connected to patient care without bedside

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with at least 2 years in an acute care setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in EMR systems, preferably EPIC.
• Highly organized with strong prioritization.
• Familiarity with hospital workflows and consulting services is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Receive, organize, and distribute incoming patient consults.
• Perform chart reviews to assess severity and triage.
• Coordinate transfers and referrals with the Transfer Center.
• Maintain communication with ER teams for triage and referrals.
• Generate daily census and patient movement reports.
• Prepare cross-cover materials for safe handoffs.
• Contribute to quality improvement through data collection.
