Job summary

UNC Health Care System in North Carolina seeks a Nursing Supervisor to ensure optimal patient care, staffing, and education on each shift. You will supervise nursing, HUC, and support staff, participate in performance reviews, and drive quality and safety initiatives on an ongoing unit.

This is a 40-hour, onsite daytime role at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Qualifications include a BSN, NC RN license, and BLS; 18 months of tertiary care nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care - Ensures that appropriate care and services are available to patients / clients and families. Facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration in patient/client care planning.
• Human Resource Services - Effectively manages human resources. Creates an environment conducive to recruiting and retaining staff.
• Budget Management - Effectively uses clinical and financial information to establish and meet budgetary goals.
• Accreditation Issues - Ensures that internal and external regulatory standards or nursing practice are met or exceeded.
• Customer Satisfaction - Ensures high customer satisfaction. Communicates patient satisfaction results and leads initiatives to improve satisfaction.
• Quality Improvement - Leads and participates in quality improvement initiatives focusing on patient safety or quality of care deficits.
• Education - Creates an educational environment conducive to student learning and orientation of staff.
