Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) seeks an experienced Patient Safety Specialist to support the hospital's safety program. You will review incidents, facilitate root cause analyses, and present findings to leadership while coordinating Patient Safety education for NGMC staff.

Ideal candidates have an RN license in Georgia, a nursing degree, and at least five years of clinical care, with preferred three years in patient safety, quality, or risk management.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Georgia.
• Bachelor's Degree; graduate of state-accredited School of Nursing.
• Five years of clinical direct patient care experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates and presents interdivisional/departmental problem-solving/improvement activities for Patient Safety issues and concerns.
• Serves as a resource for investigation/analysis of information/data related to patient safety.
• Contributes expertise to hospital/system and medical staff committees; and other projects, as assigned.
• Participates in ongoing analysis, planning/implementation of action plans and evaluation of strategic Patient Safety initiatives.
• Facilitates RCAs, Common and Apparent Cause Analysis, and A3's as assigned.
