Job summary

WellSpan Health's WellSpan York Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate bed placement and patient flow 24/7, ensuring timely admissions and transfers. You will work with physicians, providers and clinical staff to optimize patient throughput and bed availability across the hospital system.

The role requires an Associates degree in nursing (BSN preferred) with 2 years of nursing experience in a fast-paced acute care environment; supervisory experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
• BSN is preferred for advancement and leadership potential.
• Two years of relevant nursing experience is required; five years in a high-volume acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and optimize patient flow and bed management 24/7 with physicians and clinical staff.
• Promote interdepartmental communication to improve patient throughput and placement efficiency during high-capacity situations.
• Prioritize and apply guidelines to predict and manage patient flow across all entry points.
• Coordinate admissions and transfers, including arranging transportation for smooth transitions of care.
