Job summary

The RN Patient Placement Coordinator inside the Methodist Healthcare System manages patient flow by assigning patients to appropriate beds and monitoring bed demand across facilities. It requires coordination with physicians, admissions staff, and nursing teams to prioritize bed assignments.

Applicants should have an accredited nursing degree and Texas RN licensure. Three years of direct RN experience is expected; BSN within defined timelines is preferred for newer hires.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma, associates or BSN).
• RN license to practice in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient flow and assigning patients to appropriate hospital beds.
• Monitors bed demand from reservations, walk-ins, transfers and ED admissions.
• Coordinates admissions communication with physicians and office staff.
• Participates in capacity management conference calls and triage for bed assignments.
