Job summary

Mercy nurses deliver compassionate patient care using the nursing process, maintaining confidentiality and patient rights. The role evaluates care effectiveness, coordinates with other departments, and aligns with Mercy service standards and mission.

Licensure as RN in the hiring state or compact is required, with BLS within 30 days of hire and unit-specific certifications as needed. Education must come from a nursing program (AD, Diploma, or BSN).

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program (AD, Diploma, or BSN).
• RN license required in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; ACLS/ALS/other unit certifications may be required.
• Unit-specific certifications as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process and maintain professional accountability.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality.
• Perform duties consistent with Mercy mission, values, and service standards.
