Job summary
Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide direct, age-appropriate care from admission to discharge within a fast-paced hospital setting. The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and evidence-based patient education to improve outcomes.
A BSN or higher and an active Illinois RN license are required, with BLS and advanced certifications as specified for ER specializations.
Qualifications
- BSN required or higher with Illinois RN license.
- BLS certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- ADN is acceptable but must pursue BSN within 3 years of employment.
- ACLS, PALS/ENPC and TNCC within 1 year for ER; TNCC for Pediatric ER.
- Pediatric ER preferences: Trauma Nurse Specialist and related certifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide age-specific direct patient care from admission through discharge.
- Assess, document, and communicate patient status and care needs.
- Develop and update individualized care plans with patient/family input.
- Coordinate with healthcare teams for effective outcomes.
- Educate patients and families based on evidence-based practice.
