Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center in Maryland seeks an experienced registered nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care from admission through discharge. You will coordinate with the interdisciplinary team and family to provide theory-based, patient-centered nursing care.

The role requires ADN with 1–2 years RN experience; BSN preferred. Licensure is required, CPR certification, and specialty EFM certification may be required within defined timeframes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• BSN preferred; if ADN, enrollment in BSN within 12 months and completion within 4 years.
• RN license in state or compact state required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies and safety standards.
• Collects and analyzes patient information across physical, psychological, socio-cultural and lifestyle aspects.
• Delivers nursing care using the nursing process with emphasis on patient experience.
• Identifies and plans interventions for complex patient problems.

• Advocates for patients by communicating concerns to the inter-disciplinary team.
