Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred; ADN or Diploma acceptable.
• 3 years RN experience preferred.
• Licensed RN by State Board; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to determine medical problem/condition and document in EMR; record vital signs including weight; assist physician with examination; explain procedures and treatments to gain cooperation.
• Follows up on physician orders and lab requests; informs patient of test results and further treatment; documents services in EMR for billing; observes patient and notifies supervisor of significant conditions.
• Document nursing history and physical assessment; initiate a patient education plan as prescribed.
• Abstract patient records via EMR; use Centricity and other software to support nursing functions.
• Respond to emergency situations based on nursing standards and maintain crash cart and defibrillator.
• All other duties as assigned.
