Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center, Woodlands Parkway, is seeking a motivated RN PACU to join our team. We operate in 4 OR rooms and 1 treatment room, performing outpatient procedures across Orthopedics, Neurology, ENT, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Plastic Surgery.

Position requires weekdays only — no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Texas, in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS a plus).
• 1–2 years of experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or perioperative nursing preferred.
• Previous ambulatory surgery center or outpatient setting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, efficient care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications following surgery.
• Manage airway, pain control, and vital signs until patients meet discharge criteria.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications and respond to changes in patient status using sound clinical judgment.
• Provide patient education and post-op instructions to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and fellow RNs to ensure seamless transitions of care.
• Adhere to infection control and patient safety standards at all times.
