Job summary

Upper Bay Surgery Center in Elkton, MD is hiring a full-time PACU/PAT Registered Nurse to provide continuity and quality care for patients emerging from anesthesia, prioritizing safety, comfort and privacy at all times.

The role includes pre-admission outreach, coordinating labs and orders, and delivering comprehensive post-anesthesia care for patients and families. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited RN program with an active MD RN license and required BLS/ACLS (PALS as needed).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in Pre Admission and PACU preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with safety and privacy.
• Coordinate preadmission calls, lab orders and perioperative instructions.

Upper Bay Surgery Center is hiring a full time PACU/PAT Registered Nurse

PACU/PAT Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at Upper Bay Surgery Center

ThePACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. The Pre-Admission may assume the following responsibilities: contact, by way of telephone, all patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine where and when these procedures are to completed and provide preadmission teaching, responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients’ condition, providing patient safety comfort, and privacy at all times.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state

Pay rate:

$40.91/hr - $48.00/hr (Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.)
