Job summary

Leonardtown Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse Preop/PACU to join our team. The role provides continuity and quality nursing care for patients from anesthesia through recovery, emphasizing safety, comfort, and privacy.

The position requires a current RN license, BLS/ACLS certification, and prefers PACU or critical care experience. Weekdays only; no holidays, weekends, nights, or calls.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Strong nursing judgment and workload prioritization.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous, quality care and ensure patient safety in PACU.
• Monitor and assess patients emerging from anesthesia; plan and evaluate for discharge.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with sterile techniques and conscious sedation as needed.

Registered Nurse Preop/Pacu at Leonardtown Surgery Center

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Pay Range:

Min $39.93 to Max $49.92. Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
