Job summary

UW Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. This 90% FTE evening/night role offers flexible schedules with no weekend or holiday on-call requirements.

The RN will independently manage peri-anesthetic care for complex pediatric surgical and procedural patients and handle a varied caseload across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• 6 months of current independent PACU/ED/Surgical Critical Care/SICU or Surgical IMC experience required
• 6 months of surgical general care experience with adult populations or six months of inpatient pediatric experience if working within AFCH Pre/Post/PACU required
• 6 months of current independent medical general care with PACU experience required
• 2 years or more of current independent PACU/ED/Surgical Critical Care/SICU/IMC experience preferred

90% FTE, Evening/Night, Monday - Friday 8-hour and 10-hour shifts, 11:00pm -7:00am or 9:00pm -7:30am. No weekend or holiday on-call responsibilities. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will be working at the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

• 6 months of current independent PACU, Emergency Department, Surgical Critical Care, Surgical ICU, or Surgical IMC experience Required
• 6 months of surgical general care experience with adult populations or six (6) months of recent inpatient pediatric experience if working within AFCH Pre/Post/PACU Required
• 6 months of current independent medical general care with previous PACU experience Required
• 2 years or more of current independent PACU, Emergency Department, Surgical Critical Care, Surgical ICU, or Surgical IMC experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
• Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months Required
